We are so excited about this event tomorrow! You'll want to definitely take your kids for some "elf" fun!  The author of best-selling book, Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition® will be in Kansas City on Wednesday for a book signing at Pottery Barn Kids on the Country Club Plaza!

Chanda Bell, author of best-selling book, Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, will be signing books from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Additionally, per the story, the elves come out right after Thanksgiving, so Kansas City will be flooded with these magical elves during this time!  Elf on the Shelf is a #1 Barnes & Noble and Publishers Weekly children’s book.  Plus, check out this very CUTE "elf training" video that my kids have abosolutely wanted to see over and over again!

For those of you who may be wondering – The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition written by Carol Aebersold and her daughter Chanda Bell, answers the age-old question, “How does Santa really know who’s been naughty or nice?”.  The story explains how Santa sends a scout elf to each home to watch over the children's behavior. Each night, the elf flies to the North Pole where it reports to Santa who has been nice or naughty that day. This gift set includes a pixie-elf, hardbound book and keepsake box. Children can register their elf’s name at www.elfontheshelf.com and receive an official “North Pole Certificate of Adoption.”

And, our friends associated with Elf on the Shelf coming to KC, are giving one of our readers the chance to win an Elf on the Shelf prize pack!  Here's how to enter:

1.  Sign up here to stay in-the-know with our email updates.

2.  Leave us a comment below about what your kids love about Elf on the Shelf, or if it's all new to you, tell us what you think they'd enjoy about having their every own elf around during this time of year!

3.  One winner randomly selected on Friday December 3rd!

Good luck!

I would like to add this Elf to our family because as my chidren are getting older they are starting to question things about Santa. I think Elf just might add some magic back to their eyes a while longer. I hate to think that is lost.

I first learned about Elf on the Shelf from girls in the dance class I teach and I thought it sounded like such a great idea! My son is just now old enough to get excited about Christmas, and this is definitely a tradition we’re going to start!

Well now daddy is home (First Christmas in our house all TOGETHER)and we are so excited to start our very OWN Traditions! I can just picture sitting in the recliner reading this book to my son. Yay for new traditions!

We just got “Sparky” from the North Pole, CO over Thanksgiving weekend. We were visiting family in Colorado and took a trip to the North Pole. My boys were very excited to see that Santa had sent us home with our very own Elf! We named him Sparky (short for sparkling – which is what my oldest son, almost 3 years old, described Christmas as being).
I wanted an Elf for my family and was SOOOOO excited to see they were for sale at the North Pole. We would love for Sparky to have an elf buddy to travel to the North Pole with, and I can only imagine the mischief the two of them could get in to while my boys are asleep!

Being a single mom this is exactly what I was looking for to have as a tradition with my 5 yr old! 😉 It would be awesome for him to be able to wake up and find out where the elf will be watching him from each day!!
