October 24 | Halloween Happenings @ Merriam Marketplace (FREE)
Join the biggest “Halloween Pre-Party” in Merriam. Costume contest, games, candy hunt, craft and a Halloween photo booth. Light refreshments will be served. Takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Merriam Marketplace, 5740 Merriam Drive, Merriam, KS 66202

October 24 | Day of the Dead Celebration @ Olathe Public Library (FREE)
Come celebrate the Day of the Dead. Children in 5th grade and younger, along with parents, can drop by and decorate a traditional sugar skull. Come and go as you please. Supplies are limited.  Olathe Public Library, 201 E. Park St, Olathe, KS.

October 25 | Trunk or Treat @ BMO Harris Bank (FREE)
Join over 40 businesses and restaurants participating in this free community event. Plus firemen and police will be there to promote holiday safety. Everyone welcome.  Please bring canned goods for a Harvesters food drive.

October 25 | Trick or Treat Event @ Nebraska Furniture Mart (FREE)
Kids will enjoy trick or treating throughout the store from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

October 26 | Trunk or Treat at Antioch Community Church (FREE)
Join us at Antioch Community Church for our 3rd annual Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday October 26th from 2-4 pm. We will have plenty of candy, a bounce house, and door prizes. Antioch Community Church is located at 4805 NE Antioch Rd KC, MO 64119. For questions call 816-452-7833.

October 26 | Trick or Treat on the Farm and Boooo Barn
The Boooo Barn, a kid-friendly haunted barn, will delight and spook children of all ages. Trick or Treat through the historical buildings in FarmTown, enjoy spooky stories, a costume fashion show (at 3:00), farming activities, hayrides, miniature train rides and more! A unique Halloween family tradition!  Special admission rate of $5 per person, under 1 free. The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame is located at 630 North 126th Street (just northeast of I-70 in Bonner Springs, Kansas, two miles west of the Kansas Speedway).

October 26 | Trunk or Treat @ Zona Rosa (FREE)
Participating merchants will decorate cars and line the street along the StoddardBridge just north of Town Square. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes, walk from trunk to trunk and collect candy and prizes. This free event is a part of Zona Rosa’s quarterly KidZone events. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

October 26 | Trick or Cache
Learn to use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to track a cache in a fun, relaxed environment. GPS units will be provided on this modern-day scavenger hunt for Halloween treats. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Participants registering as a family will receive one GPS unit per family. There is a fee for this event.

October 26 | Starbucks Pumpkin Painting Party (FREE)
Bring your children and paint pumpkins!  All supplies, including pumpkins, are provided.  Children receive a free kid’s size hot chocolate. Starbucks in the Highland Plaza Shopping Center, 119th Street at Hwy. 69, Overland Park, KS from 11AM-2PM.

October 26 | Fall Kids’ Fun Fest @ Price Chopper (FREE)
Bring the kids to play in bounce houses, get their faces painted, see balloon artists, and enjoy hot dogs, cotton candy and more. At the following locations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 26 | Trick or Treating Event in Downtown OP – Overland Park (FREE)
Bring your little ghouls and goblins to Downtown OP anytime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to trick-or-treat with participating businesses. The Halloween Fun Band will perform on the patio.  Start at the clock tower patio for a list of participating businesses and to pick up a special trick-or-treat bag! Look for “trick-or-treat here” posters in participating business windows, as well.

October 26 | Halloween Superhero Extravaganza @ Leawood Hy-Vee (FREE)
Leawood Hy-Vee is transformed into a scene from your child’s favorite superhero movie and will be full of Halloween festivities including safe trick-or-treating, face painting, games and snacks. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes for the costume contest (non-superheroes are welcome).  11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Leawood Hy-Vee Store, 12200 Stateline Road, Leawood, KS.

October 26 | Spookfest Blackbeard’s Halloween Haunt
Enjoy a safe, family-friendly Halloween event in Kansas City’s Science Center, Science City! Enjoy creepy science demos, eerie edibles in the test kitchen, scavenger hunt for treasure, ghost stories, costume contests, treats and more. October 26 | Haunted Kansas @ Ernie Miller Park
As darkness falls, walk through the trails of Ernie Miller Park and listen to the stories of long ago. Characters from the past will share legends around the campfire. Expect a shiver down the spine and a mild case of goose bumps for those who dare enter the forest on this autumn evening. This program is recommended for ages 8 and older. Group sessions begin every 20 minutes and the program is approximately one hour. This spooky story time is just $5 per person, including adults. This is an outdoor event, dress appropriately. Reservations are required. In case of inclement weather, program will be held indoors.

October 27 | Fairway’s Trail of Tricks and Treats
Winds through the open space lined with Halloween lights and filled with games like pumpkin bowling, potato sack races, pin-the-nose on the jack-o-lantern and a miniature beanbag toss. Each child receives a trick-or-treat bag, breakaway neck lanyard and two glow sticks (one for the trail and one for Halloween Night).  Kids can participate in a Costume Parade at approximately 6:00 p.m., and there will be free food, too!  Ideal for kids ages up to 10 years old. Event is at Peterson Park, 6136 Mission Road, Fairway, KS at 5 p.m. There is a cost for admission.

October 27 | Trunk or Treat @ Lenexa United Methodist Church (FREE)

October 28 | Miss Elaine’s Storytime Halloween Party (FREE)
Listen to stories, make a craft and have a treat. All ages are welcome. No pre-registration is necessary, just show up. Be sure to wear your spooky costume! The Learning Tree Corinth Square, 4004 W. 83rd Street, Prairie Village, KS 66208 at 10:30 a.m.

October 29 | Price Chopper Kids  Club Halloween Party
Kids 12 and under are invited to decorate cookies, enjoy free treats, and
enter a coloring contest to win great prizes.  Event is on Tuesday, October 29 from 3 – 7 p.m. at all 49 Price Chopper locations. 

October 29 | S’mores and Stories by the Prairiefire (FREE)
Join Prairiefire at LionsGate, The Fresh Market, REI, Mysteryscape, LLC and Visit Overland Park at the REI parking lot for s’mores, goodies & SPOOKY stories. Storytelling begins at 6:45pm with a spooky children’s tale, followed by a story for those who like to get a little scared. Attend for the chance to win prizes such as tickets to The World’s Largest Dinosaurs at the Museum of Prairiefire, Mysteryscape books, games and more! Feel free to bring your own comfy seating, blankets and campfire goodies! Treats will be provided by Fresh Market! October 31 |  Safe Trick-or-Treat @ Zona Rosa (FREE)
This offers an alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating at night on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31. The event is from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Grove at Zona Rosa and includes free candy, giveaways, an interactive haunted house, games and more. Families are invited to come in costume.

    The DT Overland Park Trick or Treating, according to their website, is the 31st not the 26th as you have listed here. Thanks!

    My daughter just went to Price Chopper in Lees Summit and they were told this fun fest was Sat the 24th not the 26. You have made my 3 year old very disappointed!
