‘Deanna Rose’ Season is Upon Us!

It's almost April 1st so you know what that means?  One of KC's favorite attractions will soon open up for the season!

On April 1, Deanna Rose Farmstead will reopen for its 32nd season.  This year will feature many new additions and we are excited to give you the scoop on all that will soon be open!

For starters, the new Ben's Bank will open as a new educational feature at the Farmstead.  And, an ice cream parlor is in the works!

There are a few changes this season that you'll want to know before heading out.  For starters, beginning this year a $2 per person admission fee will be charged on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while admission will  continue to be FREE Monday through Thursday.  Children under two years of age are always free.

One of the most wonderful ways you can support the Farmstead and its efforts is to become a member of the Friends of the Farmstead.   This private fundraising organization will not only get you free admission into the Farmstead, but several other perks to enjoy as well!

Membership is $35 for Overland Park residents and $50 for non-residents.  Some of the benefits included when you choose to support the Farmstead include four free soft drinks, goat food, pony rides, and fishing poles.  Click here to sign up for your membership today!  Memberships also would make a great gift for grandparents, parents, etc.!

This season the Farmstead will have two FREE weekends for all to come out and enjoy!  These dates are June 18-20, 2010 and July 16-19, 2010.  Here are just a few of the fantastic attractions that the Farmstead will have available:

  • Pony Rides (ages 3 and older) – A staff member will lead a pony around an 8 figure track.
  • Wagon Rides – Take a relaxing 12-15 minute ride through the woods.
  • Feeding the Bottle Goats – Feed baby goats from   bottle.
